Mission Statement

In response to the Atenean's search for meaning in life,
inspired by the Incarnation of Christ
and His redeeming love
we support the University's desire to be in,
involved with, and proactively responsive to the world.

As an integral part of the University,
we mediate between the University and the World
in the endeavour of bringing about the Regnum Dei.

Through discerning the signs of the times,
we ceaselessly strive for greater consciousness
and reasonable disturbance
of the University and personal consciences
to compassionately change
the situation of poverty in Bicol.

We encourage the University to dialogue with the world
by providing opportunities for direct experience
of social realities especially the lives of the poor,
and by endeavoring to nourish an attitute of collaboration
and voluntary service
.

We foster the four-fold dialogues of
competence, conscience that promotes social justice,
compassionate commitment to social change
and Christ-centered dialogue with other religions
by announcing the social teachings of the Catholic Church
as these relate to contemporary social issues, poverty and
unjust situations
and accompanying the academic community
in the search for and the proclamation of truth in the World.
