Theo Dept Initiates First Theological Reflections Series

From 9-10 February 2010, the Theology Department launched their first Theological Reflections Series, titled Didaskalies ("to instruct"), at the Bro. Richie Fernando Hall. As an alternative class of Theology, students from all year levels were invited to attend the talks tackling various concerns regarding faith and the Church.

First Day (9 Feb):

Characterization of Disciples of Mark by Marco Guiriba

Church... Truly Alive: An Introduction to the Social Teachings of the Catholic Church by Peregrin Goingo, M.A.

Music in Catholic Liturgical Tradition by Tonijoe Buena

Christian Family: A Reflection on "Familiaris Consortio" by Janthe Bagadion

Second Day (10 Feb):

Magis in the Church of the Youth, the Home and the Poor by Dave Orendain

Leadership, Involvement and People by Sherwin Pasiona, M.A. (who also gave a talk on Social Justice)

Women in the Life of the Church by Jonafel Garol, M.A.

Romance Without Regret by Fr. Jose Embile, Jr. S.J.

The first Theological Reflections Series was met with a positive response. With its success, the Department is looking forward to facilitating their next Reflections Series next school year.
