 19 February 2010—over seventy (70) employees were given Service Awards for their passionate and continuing service to the Ateneo de Naga University. The event, which started at 8:30 AM, was held at the University Gym.
Emceed by Meljohn Tatel, High School Faculty, and Shajanni Velasco, College Faculty, the event was formally opened with a Welcome Remark by Fr. Joel Tabora, SJ, University President. The service awards were then divided into the following categories: 5 Years (31 awardees), 10 Years (18 awardees), 15 Years (8 awardees), 20 Years (3 awardees), 25 Years (9 awardees), 30 Years (4 awardees) and 40 Years (1 awardee, Dr. Emelina Regis, Ph.D., who also gave a speech sharing important anecdotes throughout her career in the Ateneo as well as expressing her great thanks to the community). Awards for Exemplary Performance for both College and High School Faculty & Staff were also given.
Testimonials from the awardees and friends were presented. The university choir also displayed their vocal varieties through intermission numbers between categories. Felda Alarkon, Director of the Personnel Office, officially closed the ceremony her heartfelt gratitude to the people who had given great effort for the event.
