Ateneo Toddlers Move Up

Thirty-two (32) toddlers from the Ateneo Child Learning Center (ACLC) Moved Up at the Xavier Hall last 19 March 2010 at 5:00 PM.

The venue—decorated with colorful balloons, light fabrics, and a bright red carpet—was packed with proud parents and siblings. Chirps and cheers filled the room as everyone was excited for the graduation ceremony. After the Doxology and the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, Joana Antonio gave the audience a warm welcome speech, followed by an inspirational message from ACLC 2004 graduate Lawrence Bernardo Perez.

Dr. Arnulfo Reganit, Dean of the College of Education, then presented the Loyalty Awardees and Carmela Fabi, ACLC Officer-in-Charge, presented the candidates for moving up. Fr. Joel Tabora, University President, finally confirmed the ACLC graduates this year.

After the awarding and the distribution of diplomas, Kristina Llorin gave her words of gratitude, followed by an inspirational message from the University President.

As a great way to end the ceremony, the kids also recited the Moving-Up Day Poem and sang the Moving-Up Song.

Moving-Up Day Poem

I know my ABCs, colors, shapes, and days
I learned some poems, sang some songs, rhymes, and fingers plays
I played outside on sunny days and inside when it rained
My little hands and little feet were busy everyday.

My teacher, I kept on her toes.
She combed my hair, tied my shoes and even wiped my nose.
But now it’s time to say goodbye to all my preschool friends.
School is over, summer’s here, but learning never ends.

Do you remember way last June
When we were only just this tall?
Now look at us, we’re up to here
And My! We’ve learned a lot this year.
But this is the beginning not the end
Because we made so many friends.
We won’t be sad
We will remember
We’ll see each other in June!
