The Ateneo Social Science Research Center’s pre-election survey of February 21-March 6, 2010 has Bongat leading the race. The Mayoral race in the City of Naga has the following scores: Bongat 62%, Roco 16.7%, Botor 9.3%, Ortega 1.3% and Olea 0.3%. The undecided is 8.3% and abstain is 2%.
For the vice-mayoral race, Bordado leads with 75%. He is followed by Lucena 9.7% and Llorin 3.3%. The undecided is 10.3% and abstain is 2%.
In the councilors’ race, the survey shows that, in the magic 10, Abonal is ahead of the other candidates with 53%. He is followed by Legacion (52%), De Asis (49%), Del Castillo (38%), Tuason (38%), Lavadia (37%), Sergio (32.7%), Rosales (32%), Perez (25%) and Rentoy (24%). The next 5 places go to Fortaleza with 22.7% votes, Jacobo 16.7%, Hidalgo 16%, Morano 12.7% and Cabrera 12.3%. The undecided is 11.7%.The placements can still change come election day. With a margin of error of +/-5.6%, Legacion and De Asis can still take the lead and Fortaleza can still be in the magic 10.
For the National Election
The surey also asked Nagueños of their preferences for the national candidates. In the Presidential race, Aquino (51%) is way ahead of Villar (21.7%). Teodoro or Gibo has 6.3% followed by Gordon (3%), Estrada (2.7%), Villanueva (1%) and Madrigal (0.7%). The undecided is 12.3% and abstain is 1.3%.
In the Vice-Presidential race, Roxas leads. He has 58.7%, followed by Legarda (16.7%), Binay (9.3%), and Fernando (3%). Sonza and Yasay are tie, each has 0.3%. The undecided is 9.7% and abstain 2%.
The scores of the magic 12 in the senatorial race are: Cayetano (57.7%), Roco (57.7%), Drilon (57.0%), Recto (46%), Santiago (43%), Revilla (38%), Osmeña (35.7%), Enrile (32%), Guingona (28.7%), Biazon (28.7%), Tatad (28%), and Baraquel (26.7%). The undecided is 9%.
In the Congressional race, Villafuerte is ahead of the other candidates with 60.7%, followed by Jacob 22.3%, and Arcilla 1.7%. The undecided is 11.3% and abstain is 4%.
The Poll
The survey was conducted to 300 registered voting age population of the City of Naga with a margin of error of +/-5.6%.
