AdNU Welcomes Friedrich-Alexander-Gymnasium Students Lea Juliana Dippon and Josephine Helen Henry, Academic Exchange Students under EPECTO.

Exchange Program on Education, Culture and Teaching Objectives (EPECTO). With the acclaim of their class moderators, two students from Germany have been invited and welcomed by AdNU President Fr. Joel Tabora, S.J. to enroll in the university as academic exchange students for a semester under the aegis of EPECTO. Both residing in Markt Erlbach, Lea Juliana Dippon and Josephine Helen Henry are scholars of Friedrich-Alexander-Gymnasium, AdNU’s partner-institute in Neustadt an der Aisch. They arrived on 21 November 2009, and will be in the country until 8 April 2010.

Born in Davao City, Philippines, Lea Dippon is the second child in the family of Klaus and Inge Dippon. She spent her first four years in the Philippines before returning Germany with her family upon completion of her father’s six-year professional contract in the country. She is an experienced volleyball and track-and-field athlete, and has garnered entries into athletic state championships. She plays the piano and enjoys various academic, athletic and social engagements. She joined the exchange program to see the country again, and to experience the unique culture and educational system of the Philippines.

Born in Bad Windsheim, Germany, Josy Henry is the eldest in the family of Billy and Manuela Henry. She loves singing, and derives styles and tastes from a broad and diverse range of musical sources. She has been a member of two community choirs, and has had professional voice lessons. She is athletic, and engages in multiple sporting activities such as volleyball, soccer, swimming, table tennis, biking, and lawn tennis. Full of high spirits and athleticism, Josy joined the exchange program to immerse herself in our foreign culture.

While here, Lea and Josy will take part in four official courses: English, Algebra, Moral Philosophy and Philippine History. They will also assist in delivering the university’s German Language and Culture Course. They will live with the members of the Madrigal Ladies Dormitory, with dorm mentor and prefect Ms. Ailen Marylou Bigay. Like the previous exchange program visits, their sojourn shall be supervised by EPECTO Team Coordinators and Key Drivers Karola Klier and Rey Francis Hernandez.
