A Day for Mary: Feast of the Immaculate Conception

In light of the celebration of the Immaculate Conception, activities were done to promote growth in our appreciation and love to the Blessed Virgin. This was also to further understand the role of Mary in the history of salvation and of our lives.

The feast started at 8:00 am via a community procession with the image of the Immaculate Conception, from the Ateneo campus to the Metropolitan Cathedral, then through Centro and back to the Ateneo. A Eucharistic Celebration was held at the University Gym afterwards wherein the installation for the lay ministers of Ateneo was also conducted.

Simultaneous events after the mass were held. Cathechesis on the Immaculate Conception for the different Theology classes were held at the Richie Fernando Hall and at the Arrupe Convention Hall from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm. Prayer Vigil and the saying of the Rosary at the University Church for Non-theology classes and organizationas were at 10:30 am to 3:00 pm.

At 3:00 to 4:30 pm, there was a film showing about Mary and Reflection with the College Students at the Gym with Fr. Jose Embile, S.J. as a resource person.

Theological Reflection Session with the faculty and staff was held at the Arrupe Convention Hall at 4:30 to 6 PM with Fr. Ritche Elot, S.J. as the resource person and at 6:00 pm, there was the Oyayi, a Marian Prayer Concert at the University Christ the King Church.
